T.i.l.t.
Nina Pettinato, 2025 · acrylic on canvas · 100 × 80 cm
Work at a Glance
A medium-format acrylic painting on canvas, created in 2025 in a vertical format using an exceptionally multilayered technique comprising flowing glazes, impasto bands, free-form color gradients, and spontaneous inclusions.
How to Read the Painting?
Glowing orange and luminous crimson form a seething background, from which floating, almost incorporeal forms in white, silver, and delicate mauve emerge like steam or spirits – as if something invisible were becoming visible, only to dissolve once more in the very next moment. A dark, sinuous stream of color cuts through the center of the image like a fissure – at once unpredictable and precise – while curving bands on the right comment on the chaos with an almost dance-like lightness. The image tilts, turns, loses, and then regains its point of balance – exactly as the title promises.
Who is this Painting for?
'T.i.l.t.' is a work of intoxicating energy and painterly boldness that sets any room in motion, continually challenging viewers to look – and look again.
